Bow your head to Queen Elizabeth...

Still recovering from my surgery last week.....as you can see I have to wear this ridiculous accessory. It's so embarassing! Good thing I don't have to walk around the neighborhood with this.

Life is so boring for me these days. I can't run, jump or play and Im tired of my mom yelling my name out every second.

Sigmund! Sigmund! No Sigmund! Sigmund where are you? Sigmund, stop licking!

BOOGIE Envy...

Im loving these images of a Boston Terrier named Boogie portrayed on Classic furniture pieces.

Here's info on the artist:
Lili Chin is an illustrator and animator out of Los Angeles who spends a great deal of time working with animals and their perfect portraiture that captures the subtle personalities in each one. Lili works hand in hand with many rescue organizations and often times proceeds go to help fund their efforts.

Lili has the Boogie On seriesavailable in a set of 14- 6x4 postcards for $14, or in 11"x11" print size for $10.50 and also in 2010 calendar form for $20.95.

You can follow Lili and her canine works over at Doggie Drawings and at her animation studio Fwakanimation.

I posted my fave of the series here. Here's what drew me to this particular piece:
1) Boogie has a mark on top of his head, just like me.
2) I too love to play solo and chase after tennis balls.
3) I love when Mommy lets me sleep on top of the modern white sofas in the living room...such a treat!

Reunited......and it feels so good...

My best friend/my favorite toy of all time, "Cat" also underwent major surgery just last week. Her body was found outside, half eaten & shredded into pieces, by a "Dog bear"(none other than my big brother Moog).

Good thing I have a grandma with skills and she was able to put "cat" back together again like nothing ever happened.

Meet the Boston Buddies Surf Team USA!

Hundreds of people descended on Huntington Beach on Sunday, Oct. 11th, 2009 for the Inaugural Surf City Surf Dog Competition. The Surf City Surf Dog brought together the community, surfers, dog lovers, charities, families and pets for a day of fun at Huntington Dog Beach. At the event there were Interactive exhibits, dog rescue booths, contests and more. There were an estimated 2,000+ dog lovers at this first surf competition and Expo. The Surf Dog Contest included Small, Medium, Large and Tandem Dog/Human Heats.

Sadly, I was not at this event. I think I had a cold, so my mom kept me home. But I have to make it out there next time for sure! I definitely want to catch a wave and represent for Bostons!

MAD AT THE WORLD

Just returned from the vet and Nurse Ratched (a.k.a. Mommy) scheduled my castration for the Tuesday before Thanksgiving of all days…..(can she be any more cruel…). Neutering is supposed to tamp down my rambunctious behavior (uh-huh, let’s see about that).

I feel just like Jack Nicholson as “Randle Patrick McMurphy in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”. In the film he receives a lobotomy that transforms him into a vegetative state, silent and motionless. His friend, the “Chief”, realizes that if the other patients see McMurphy in that condition, Nurse Ratched will have ultimately defeated him, demoralizing the patients who were only beginning to assert themselves as men because of McMurphy's influence. The Chief smothers him with a pillow during the night, so that he can die with dignity rather than lie there as a representation of what happens when one tries to fight the system.

Some interesting tidbits about the film:

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was a direct product of Ken Kesey's time working the graveyard shift as an orderly at a mental health facility in Menlo Park, California. Not only did he speak to the patients and witness the workings of the institution, he took psychoactive drugs (Peyote and LSD) as part of Project MKULTRA. From this, he became sympathetic toward the patients. Kesey claimed he wrote the first three pages of the novel after ingesting eight peyote plants, and that these pages remained almost completely unchanged through all the book's rewrites.

Only the second movie in Oscar history to sweep the top five awards (Best Film, Director -- Milos Forman, Actor -- Jack Nicholson, Actress – Louise Fletcher and Screenplay adapted by Bo Goldman and Laurence Hauben from Ken Kessey’s best-selling 1962 novel).

7 month Update

Our little boy Sigmund is growing up so fast. He's 7 months at the end of the month! Now he walks on a leash and recently graduated from Puppy Obedience School. He knows how to "sit", "go down" and come when called (but not always). He even made his first friend, "Bailey".

MR. CHUNKS!

FINALLY got some shots of me at 5 months old. It's been a while since I last posted. My personal photographer (mommy)has been too busy (more like lazy) for a photo shoot.

My face is changing...becoming more square and mature, but in some pictures I still look like a puppy. Check out my huge paws and protruding tummy.

Can I go?

This is me at home (right now it's the bathroom) while my mommies are working. It's so lonely, I could cry:(

Which brings me to my point: I just got my first LB Boston Terrier Meet Up invite! It's this Saturday, July 25th, 11 am at Recreation Park on 7th.

Not sure if I'll get the green light to go but I'll be 4 months then and I'll be finishing my shots at the vet that morning.

Oh,and I gained two lbs. I am now 5.46 lbs as of 7/11/09. Probably approaching 6 lbs by the end of the week.

He loves me.....

My big brother Moog and I play more each day and I think he's beginning to really like me (look he's even hugging me!). I just have to resist the urge to nibble on his tail, face and paws....I don't think he enjoys it very much but he let's met get away with a lot of bad stuff....like playing with his toys! From his point of view, it must be annoying to be 42 years old (in dog years) and have a new 12-week old brother to deal with.

Birthmark

Can you spot the heart?

More Hitchcock.......

Two of Hitchy's favorite things: sunbathing and sleeping!

HITCHCOCK'S LEGACY (January 2000 to March 2009)

Hitchcock was my mommy's first Boston and the BOSS of the household. I never got to meet him, but my mommy talks about him and misses him a whole lot. He was very loved by everyone who met him and will be a tough act to follow..... He inspired my mom to take pictures and he loved to pose in front of the camera.

First SHOTS

My mom loves to take pictures, especially of me! Here's some of them taken just a couple of days after I arrived. I'm still getting used to the camera.......

WELCOME to my blog!

Hi everyone, this is Sigmund. I'm a Boston Terrier, who recently moved to sunny Long Beach all the way from Mississippi! Im just a puppy (3 months old). My mommies call me "piranha" because I like to chew on things including my big brother's tail. I'm getting used to my new home and hope to meet other Bostons!
